Our Lodge
St. Marks Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1 was warranted by the Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland on 18 June 1856 as “The St. Mark’s Lodge of Mark Masters”. It held its first meetings in London that summer. On 4 May 1867 it came under the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons with a Warrant of Confirmation, keeping its number 1. It is regarded as the first regularly warranted Mark lodge in England, and it heads the numbered roll of Grand Lodge.
The Lodge is proud of its history, but above all it is a friendly, working Lodge. It advances new Mark Master Masons, welcomes visitors, and enjoys good company at the Festive Board. Our Mother Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 1, warranted in 1872, is moored to St. Marks.
